About Us

The Fertility Planning Institute was founded by Ms. Deborah Bundy in 1976. Deborah first became fascinated by the possibility of helping women to overcome the difficulty of achieving a natural planned pregnancy while she was a student at the University of Vermont.

Capitalizing on research that had been done in Europe, Deborah focused on the theory that using the traditional rhythm method for predicting a woman’s monthly peak fertility period was highly inaccurate.

After receiving her degree in mathematics and computer science, Deborah has continued to pursue her research, helping to found FPI. Using data from approximately 40,000 women, FPI developed a sophisticated computer program which identified key relationships between various pieces of fertility cycle data. The result was an 85% increase in the accuracy of predicting a woman’s peak fertility period.

Based on the results of her work, Deborah was personally able to successfully plan for the sex and time of birth for her daughter and son using the FPI method. Numerous other couples have successfully planned their natural pregnancies using the FPI method as well.
